Youth Sports Day Open House

Tewksbury Rod and Gun is planning its annual Youth Sports Day to be held on October 4th from 12pm to 3pm, at our Club. Families are most welcome, and bring your eligible youth shooter(s) as well. At this event you can meet with the coaching staff members of two of the region’s best- and well-established youth shooting programs, the Tewksbury Junior (.22) Program and the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), for competitive shotgun and clay targets. Information will be provided for each program such as required safety, cost, and personal equipment required to join a team. Both programs are affordable by most families. Stop in to learn and ask as many questions as you may have about our shooting season schedules, staff’s coaching and training qualifications, and more.

We want all boys and girls to better understand their safety responsibilities when competing with firearms. While doing this, we want our kids to enjoy the sport and learn the skills required to succeed at their shooting sports. We hope to see all of you at the open house!

If you would like to help out for SCTP, contact Mike Hebert (978) 604-0745(c).

For the Junior (.22) Program, contact John Ings (978)790-0907(c).

CMP – Match Clinic

Please come down and join us on Saturday September 6, 2025 from 9:00 AM – Noon (weather permitting) for our CMP Match Clinic.

These match clinics allow people the opportunity to shoot M1 Garand or AR-15 rifles in a structured but fun setting. M1 Garand or AR-15 rifles can be provided.  If you have your own favorite centerfire rifle please bring it.

The event is conducted in a match format (5 rounds for practice, 10 rounds prone, 10 rounds sitting or kneeling, and 10 rounds standing), but the competition is secondary to the experience of firing these two iconic military firearms.

The cost for each match is $20 for ammunition (.30-06 or .223) and there is no cost if you bring your own ammunition. Minors must have a parent or guardian present.

Come down and shoot a piece of history!

Club clean up day – June 8

We are asking all able-bodied members, friends, and family members to turn out and help with the annual ground’s cleanup on Sunday, June 8th. This annual spring cleanup is one way to get your volunteer hours in and at the same time make your club property look its very best for the coming summer season. Please volunteer for part of the day, but the whole day would be even better! Meet at the clubhouse at 8 AM ready for coffee & donuts and individual work assignments. We plan to work from 8 AM to 4 PM on this day. The more people the better. It will take less time to spruce the grounds up. Please bring a pair of gloves, a rake, a shovel, brush cutters and lopping shears, and (if you can) a wheelbarrow or other useful tools with you to the club. We need enough volunteers to include cleanup on the outdoor and indoor ranges as well as around the clubhouse. We would suggest that the junior shooters participate. Many hands make for light work, so please put this activity on your calendar. Mike Barry mentioned that the kitchen really could use a good cleaning too. Please think about getting your hours in by sprucing up the kitchen! Bring gloves and a Mr. Clean eraser pad, if you have some. If someone had a small tractor with grading and grooming tools, the range access road could be improved due to the spring ruts and potholes. Please speak with President Jeff Blute at (978) 973-6109 ahead of time about volunteering your equipment and help with this task. The club would be able to pay for fuel for the task as well.

Lunch will be provided around noon for the crew members. What a great way to begin the outdoor season with all of your friends and families working together to clean-up your gun club.

Annual Membership Dues

Membership Secretary Patty Blute or membership assistants will be at the club starting at 6:00 PM on Tuesday evenings.

There are 5 categories

  1. Standard Members owe = $125.00
  2. Reduced Members owe = (10 hours documented volunteer club work) = $60.00
  3. Senior Members owe = (62+ as of June 30, 2018) = $25.00
  4. Junior Members owe = (12 years old to 21 years old) = $20.00
  5. Life Members owe their Insurance Fee = $4.50

You can pay in person, by mail, or by drop box in the clubhouse front door.

Outdoor Club Clean Up Cancelled (Indoor help needed)

Due to the predicted weather this weekend, the outdoor portion of the Club clean up day has been cancelled.

The indoor clean up will continue.

We will still be looking for help to clean up the indoor range. We have the lead pit to clean out, along with buckets of brass and lead to be moved into our recycling dumpster.
Start time will be at 8:00am. This can be a dirty job, so dress accordingly.
