 Boating Education:

 

THERE WILL BE NO COURSE SCHEDULED @ TEWKSBURY ROD & GUN UNTILL FURTHER NOTICE.

Normally the Course is 4 weeks, on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 PM

Boating safety courses are offered by the Office of Environmental Law Enforcement by the Massachusetts Environmental

Police. Classroom courses concentrate on the equipment and operating guidelines needed to enjoy boating in a

safe and responsible way.

 

The Massachusetts sponsored BOAT MASSACHUSETTS Program is held typically once a year (Late Spring) at the

Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club. BOAT MASSACHUSETTS is state and nationally approved, concentrating on the

equipment and operating guidelines needed to enjoy boating in a safe and responsible way. Successful graduates in the

12 through 15 year-old age group will be issued a Safety Certificate allowing them to operate a motorboat without

adult supervision, as required by state law. The same is true for 16 and 17 year old youth who wish to operate

a personal watercraft (jetski, wave runner, etc.)

 

The course runs 12 hours in length. The normal format is 4 three hours classes.

All classes are free of charge. Classes are open to adults and youth.

Family participation is encouraged and has proven to be very rewarding.  

 

The course runs four weeks, held on Thursday nights between

6:30 pm and 9:00 pm.  The course is open to anyone over the age of 12.

Please note - students must attend ALL dates listed.

 

What to Bring to Class: Bring a pen and paper to take notes.
